Salute to the Sun
1 Stand up straight,looking straight ahead, palms together in the prayer position just in front of your brestbone. Check that you are balanced equally on both feet and you are not tensing any area of your body. Take a few long deep breaths.
2 Breathe in deeply and strech your arms up to the ceiling. Continue the movement so that your arms move slightly backwards, taking your body with them in a curve. Don't force this position any more than feels comfortable.
3 Return to the erect position, still with your arms raised above you and, as you breathe out, bend forwards from yor hips, keeping your back straight.
4.Place your hands on the floor, keeping your legs straight. If this isn't possible, hold the backs of your calves or ankles and gently stretch the backs of your legs.
5 Take a deep breath in and bend your left knee, at the same time stretching your right leg out behind you and placing your hands on the floor. Look up to the ceiling.

6 Breathing out, take your left leg back so that supported on your hands and feet and your body is in a long straight line
7. Breathe in and drop your knees and chest to the floor as you breathe out. Keep your hips raised off the floor.
8. As you breathe in, drop your hips to the ground and in a long, snake-like movement, push your upper body through your arms as far as it will go until your back is arched and you are looking at the ceiling.

13. Return to standing and bring your palms together in the prayer position. You can repeat this whole sequence a few times.
